Sudora, L.L.C. Internet and PC Fair Usage Policy

  

The following is the set of rules and guidelines regarding usage of Company’s Internet services. The intension of this policy is to protect the company against potential lawsuit and other harm and to make the rules clear to all employees. Employment at Company is conditional to the agreement with this policy.

 

1.       Monitoring/Surveillance

Company reserves the right to monitor all transmissions sent or received via Company’s Internet service provider. Monitoring may take place by any Manager at random or with cause at any time.

 

2.       Notification

All employees will be required to sign a copy of this policy and will be presented with a copy of it. This signed copy will be filed in the file for the employee. This policy will be discussed at least once a year at a company meeting and will be available for review at any time.

 

3.       Expectation of No Privacy

Employees should have no expectation of privacy both internally or externally for any Internet transmitted information. Virtually all Internet transmissions are traceable. Under most circumstances, Internet transmissions are like post cards send via US Mail in that they are open for anyone to read.

 

4.       Deleted E-Mail Retention

Backups of email are the responsibility of the employee. Email may be periodically deleted from the server and the server may be periodically be replaced without preservation of resident emails.

 

5.       Ownership

All PCs, servers, LAN and Internet access provided by Company are company-owned assets. Company owns all rights to both the physical assets and information stored in all company owned systems.

 

6.       Protection of Intellectual Property

Company owns all rights to any intellectual property created by Company employees within their scope of employment. Sensitive Information is defined as including but not limited to software code produced by Company, client lists, financial data, trade secrets, internal legal documents or classified documents.

 

Sensitive Information is not to be given in any way to any person or company not employed by or contracted with Company without the written approval of a Manager. It is not allowed to be removed from Company equipment or software systems without written approval of a Manager. Access to Sensitive Information is conditional upon employment and is lost upon termination or resignation.

 

7.       Position on Personal Usage

Personal usage of the Internet generally is not allowed on company time. It is allowed during unpaid times such as during lunch and after hours. Acceptable personal usage during work hours includes listening to streaming music.

 

Visitation or use of job finding websites using Company equipment or Internet services is strictly forbidden to all employees except Managers or Human Resources employees.

 

 

8.       Acceptable usage of PC email, web browsing, and newsgroups/message boards.

Any employee may use the Internet or computer equipment for any business matter. This includes researching business or computer related issues, sending and receiving business emails, purchasing parts and supplies, viewing business-related presentations and seminars, posting technical or business-related questions on newsgroups or bulletin boards, remotely connecting to networks for technical support or setup issues or any other business-related use.

 

If the employee is not sure whether or not a use is acceptable, the employee must ask a Manager.

 

9.       Unacceptable usage of PCs, email, web browsing, and newsgroups/message boards

Employees are prohibited from unauthorized mass e-mailings, online gaming, gambling, personal stock trading, commerce for personal gain, creation or distribution of computer viruses, dissemination of vulgar, racist, or obscene material, violations of copyright law, leaking Sensitive or confidential information, software piracy or attempting to hack into another system.

 

Company equipment and connections are not to be used for any activity that is illegal by any employee or guest of Company.

 

No software for personal use is allowed to be installed on any company computer without the permission of a Manager. Any software for business use should be investigated prior to installation. This is intended to help prevent viruses, spy-ware and Trojans from entering and potentially bringing down the network.

 

10.    Investigation of and sanctions for violations

If an employee if found in violation of this policy, the matter will be investigated by a manager and he/she may be written up in accordance with Company’s HR Policies.

By signing below, the employee agrees that he/she has read and understands the above policy and agrees to abide by and be bound by it.
